Ron Paul comments on the current swine flu scare. He reports that the situation reminds him of a similar situation that happened in 1976. Back then 1 person died from the flu but 25 people died from the vaccine that was quickly made to treat that swine flu. Psychologist Barbara Frederickson has found the antics of young patas monkeys, who enjoy flinging themselves onto saplings which catapult them in unexpected directions, an example and metaphor for her theory of positive emotions. She postualates that positive emotions are life saving and that "Over time, those with the most positive moments become more mindful and attentive, more accepting and purposeful, and more socially connected".
