Amidst much controversy, Kony 2012: Part II was recently released. Part I went viral and informed many Americans of the brutal actions of African warlord Joseph Kony and the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army). Part II addresses criticisims fired at the San Diego based nonprofit Invisible Children, Inc. responsible for the film. Read about the LRA's response to the film at {Huffington Post} and about some provocative accusations regarding the truth behind the problems in Uganda at {Huffington Post}. Other major developments with this project were the discovery of funding by the National Christian Foundaiton - a fundamentalist outfit that finances extremist right wing organizations and anti-gay groups and the surprising public psychotic episode of the film's director Jason Russell, caught on film. Kony 2012 had the desired effect - some reports say that it was viewed by 86 million people and that over 3 million donated money to the cause. There is enough controversy to seriously consider the true agenda of Kony 2012. Were the hearts and pockets of so many well intentioned people violated by false pretences? What really happened to Jason Russell? I guess time will tell if people don't forget about it.
