 Researchers from Dartmouth have discovered that the rare element Osmium is on the rise globally. The increase has been traced to the consumption of refined platinum, which is the primary ingredient used in catalytic converters - equipment designed to reduce smog.  On Saturday, March 28 at 8:30 pm, in each time zone, millions of people in thousands of cities all over the world, are expected to turn off the lights for one hour. The purpose is to raise people's consciousness about the link between global warning and energy use.
